Tips to Help Sell Your Home Faster

According to a local home stager, Here are some things that will put your house head and shoulders above others in your neighborhood or price-point: (I can't agree more!)

 

  • Make sure you can see the front door. Paint it with a nice glossy coat of paint.
  • Remember curb appeal: Clean mulch beds, mow your grass, put out a large pot with a tall tree or shrub or something colorful (about 4-feet tall), if space permits.
  • Keep shutter colors classic. This is Virginia; think Colonial Williamsburg.
  • Put a mirror or large piece of colorful, modern art in the foyer with a small table underneath with greenery.
  • Air out the house.
  • Update the light fixture in the dining room.
  • Declutter. When in doubt, get rid of it.
  • Change out window treatments. Plain panels in neutral colors work best and should go floor to ceiling.
